Submission; There are some rules for submission....
- The Alley Theatre is family friendly neutral space, hosting many different cultural events in the same space - pantomines, theatre, exhibitions etc – so the venue have final absolute say on the refusal to show any work. However the only situations in which we can envisage this happening is in the case were displaying the work would break the law - be that prohibiting pornography, hate crime, or in breach of NI equality legislation. (original text has been kept for reference see below)
- NJNP nor any of the organisations involved accept any liability for loss or damage to any submitted works. We always try to be very careful – but please bear this in mind when submitting. Wrap things well.
- Strictly only one piece of work per artist. Composite works will only be accepted if they can be handled/hung in one piece.
- Works must be submitted at one of the collection points (see table and site) at the designated time and collected at the same point at the published designated time. Any works uncollected will be stored for 1 month at Creative Village Art Studios, Bishop Street, Derry with a few published collection times – but if not collected will be disposed of. No seriously – it happens!
- There are no absolute restrictions on size etc. Except that works must be easily and safely handled by one person, - this could mean by virtue of weight and or size – you can ask before submission by email or by posting on the FB site. Organisers at collection points will reserve the absolute right to refuse works on the grounds stated. We are limited by access and safety restrictions, so if you have any doubts please get in touch – we want to show as wide a range of work we can and will try to make arrangements for larger pieces if possible, but must be arranged in advance.
- All 2D works must be submitted with secure hanging strings, 3D works must have their own base if required, and digital/audio work must be submitted on USB stick
- All audio visual work will be run in a continuous loop on one display only.
- A proposal for Performance art pieces must be submitted and approved prior to the event.
- Work can be listed for sale. The Alley Theatre will handle all sales, payments and handling of money. Work cannot be removed until after the show and the Alley Theatre charges 20% commission. This is NOT primarily a commercial show, there is absolutely no obligation to sell work – prices will only be displayed in the 'catalogue' and should already include the commission.
- When submitting you will be asked to sign a waiver agreeing to these conditions

VOLUNTEERING
Getting Involved; NJNP only runs by the good graces, sweat, blood and tears of volunteers – and we are always in need of good folks to help run the operation – if you think you can help out then these are the roles we would love to have you join the merry band.
If you are interested you can mail [email protected], post on the No Jury No Prize Facebook site or PM the organisers at the FB site. All help no matter how little greatly appreciated!

- Collection Point organisers; Could you organise a location in your town/area that you could collect work, ensure forms and labelling are completed, co-ordinate with the transport team (i.e. the van) and then do the return operation in November. All the forms and labels would be sent out in advance. Would love to see work coming in from all over the region....
- Transport Team; The man/woman with the van! If you have a van we could use to tour the collection points pick up work and the return it again – we would really keen to hear from you. We will be hiring a van(s) if none offered so a van drivers are also welcome. Also looking for volunteers to travel with the van and help load unload. All petrol expenses will be covered.
- Admins; Could you help with typing up the catalogue or labels? We will have all the forms in a week before the show so if you are handy with a computer and a spreadsheet we will be keen to spread the load of typing! When all done we will collate and print a catalogue, (its not very hard – but it can seem a lot if there's only one person to do it, and no one ever appreciates us ..... )
- Opening Night helpers; Might you be able to help with drinks and nibbles and making the opening a fun event?
- Gallery hanging helpers; Might you want to help working with the Alley staff to help hang and display the work? Could be fun to see behind the scenes of the exhibition.
If you are interested you can mail [email protected], post on the No Jury No Prize Facebook site or PM the organisers at the FB site. All help no matter how little greatly appreciated!
